Who we are

ClayHuts is a proposed social enterprise in its founding phase, based in Glasgow, Scotland. The data controller for this website is [full name of the person or organisation responsible]. You can contact us at [email address].

What we collect

When you join the founding register we collect your name, your email address, the ways you would like to be involved and your consent to be contacted. You can also choose to tell us where you are based and what draws you to ClayHuts.

We do not ask for your ethnicity, health, religion or any other sensitive information, and we ask you not to include it in your note.

Why we use it

We use your details only to contact you about getting involved in ClayHuts. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing [email address].

The ClayHuts guide

If you use “Ask ClayHuts”, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic, the company that provides the Claude AI model, so that the guide can answer. ClayHuts does not keep a record of these conversations. Please don't share personal details in the chat. Anthropic's handling of this data is described in its own privacy information at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Where your details are kept

Founding register submissions are stored by [form provider, for example Netlify] on our behalf. [Say where the provider stores data and what safeguards apply.] Your browser also remembers on your own device that you have joined, so the page can show your details if you come back. You can clear this by clearing your browser's site data.

The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.

How long we keep it

We keep register details for [retention period, for example 24 months] or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing [email address]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
